On August 20, 2024, Naka Town in Tokushima prefecture began a demonstration experiment of the first land-based shrimp farming in Shikoku as part of a town revitalization project, utilizing the closed Hiraya Elementary School.
Our IoT system for land-based aquaculture (product name: Bright Noah-1.0) was delivered as a system for 24-hour monitoring of the seawater quality, water temperature, and indoor environment used in this demonstration experiment.
This project was made possible when Hakuhodo Products Inc. resonated with the desire of our President and CEO, Mr. Kurita, at the Business Concept DX Summit held in August 2023 to “contribute to regional revitalization through land-based aquaculture using abandoned farmland and abandoned schools.” Seaside Consulting Inc., a leading expert in land-based shrimp aquaculture, joined the project, with which the company has a comprehensive partnership agreement to realize a land-based shrimp aquaculture business in Naka Town, Tokushima Prefecture. The company is conducting a demonstration experiment of our land-based aquaculture monitoring system in Kyonan Town, Chiba.
The shrimp harvest is scheduled for the end of this October, and until then, we will continue to monitor remotely, maintain the communication equipment, and collect data. Please look forward to hearing about the large shrimp harvest.
